Hands-on fluoroscopy radiation safety training labs
The hands-on lab consists of a series of demonstrations involving radiation exposure measurements that illustrate the fluoro radiation safety principles given in the tutorial. It also offers the opportunity to ask questions. There is no test - only data collection and discussion. Passing the on-line quiz is a prerequisite for taking the lab.
Mondays and Tuesdays 4 PM - 5 PM
Sessions are limited to only six participants (small room). Space is available on a first-come first-serve basis. Upon completion of the lab, you will be given a certificate of "Confirmation of Initial Training in Fluoroscopy Radiation Safety" to be submitted to your department.
To register for a lab session, e-mail Melissa Sanchez at melsanch@bu.edu giving your full name, department, and several dates that you will be available at the above days and times. Please copy and paste: Hands-On Fluoro Lab Sign-Up into the subject line of your e-mail. We will make every effort to accommodate your earliest request. Details of where the lab will be held will be e-mailed to you with your lab registration date.
Note: A minimum of three physicians are required for a lab to be held. Therefore, it may take a week or two before you receive a specific lab assignment.
It is also possible to arrange for a group session (at least three or more participants) for specific specialties. These would be held in your group's area using your fluoro equipment made available for this use by you. Please contact rbehrman@bu.edu to make arrangements.
