Telephone interviews, conducted by a company, Datastat, were conducted using a sampling frame of households with infants younger than 8 months from  a nationally representative list.  The list, purchased from Metromail, Lincoln, Nebraska, has been compiled from public information generated from birth records, infant photography companies, and infant formula companies.
